Natural and Highly Effective Cell Product from Your Own Blood

Platelet Rich plasma is a highly effective cell product, derived solely from your own blood. Compared to the evolved and complex stem cell-based therapies, like the Stem Cell Secretome, PRP is easy to obtain and produced quickly, therefore less cost intensive as well. Since it is not a stem cell-based therapy and therefore lacks some of the stem cells' properties, it contains many beneficial growth factors that have been proven to be effictive in many different application areas, like: orthopaedic, cosmetics or wound healing. PRP is usually obtained from 20-40cc of the patient's own blood. Afterwards, in the laboratory, the platelets are concentrated (from the obtained blood) and being prepared for, either reinjection at the location where they are needed or combined with stem cells, if required. It is important to note that PRP works in synergy with our stem cell-based therapies, to make for a more potent and effective treatment.

Platelets contain growth factors that, when secreted, are responsible for:

  • * increased collagen (connective tissue) production
  • * initiating blood vessel formation (antigenic)
  • * inducing cell differentiation

PRP: Proven Efficacy for many Orthopaedic Conditions

Sooner or later, almost everyone in their lifetime is affected by orthopaedic medical problems. Currently available medications for most orthopaedic problems are very limited and normally focus on pain relief, such as the case with NonSteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and Cortisone. If the drugs are not able to offer any help, then medical operation(s) would ultimately have to be performed. All methods are relatively blunt and provide limited lasting effects. In most cases, the expression of the helplessness arises in which current orthopaedic professionals are not really able to help. This is the reason why stem cell-based therapies will fundamentally change the way we treat, and percieve orthopeadic problems. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a relatively simple precursor of stem cell-based therapies with a long track record of successful clinical trials.

    • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections consist of concentrated platelets isolated from the patient’s own blood.
      This reduces pain and aids in the natural process of healing.
      Injections are usually performed into damaged cartilage and tendons.
    • PRP rebuilds and regenerates tissues. It can be used in common tendon injuries, such as tennis elbow or achilles tendinitis.
      It can also be used to stimulate healing of cartilage in the case of osteoarthritis or other conditions.
    • PRP injections are sometimes performed in a series of injections, however, patients often experience life chaning results after the first injection.

Common orthopaedic conditions include:

    • Osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, spine and shoulder
    • Tennis elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)
    • ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injuries
    • Achilles tendinitis

Treatments for “Vampire Lifting” and Hair Growth

Platelet Rich Plasma has a strong stimulating effect on the cells that form our skin, which makes it ideal for “local rejuvenation” applications. For example, a method that obtains the platelets from the patient's own blood, and later applied on the face became to be known as the famous "Vampire Facelift" treatment. It is one of the few skin rejuvenation methods that is scientifically proven and its benefits explained in greater detail. Rejuvenation and anti-aging creams do not have a scientific basis, and show little to no lasting effects. Botox, although highly effective, paralyzes muscles permanently leading to a mask like face.

PRP offers the benefits that combines the best of both worlds; with little side effects (bruising, swelling, and redness at injection sides), but high efficacy for patients that are looking for a real skin improvement. The procedure is usually done within an hour, in which the PRP is produced from about 20-40cc of the patient's own blood. The PRP is processed (to isolate the platelet-rich plasma), and later reinjected in the face, in order to erase wrinkles and create a more youthful look.

The treatment works efficiently, because PRP contains high amounts of cellular growth factors and proteins as depicted in Figure 1. These growth factors are known to activate resident skin (stem) cells that aid in regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin. The treatment stimulates the production of collagen, extracellular matrix and growth of healthy tissues in the body, which in turn provides long lasting natural skin improvements. As such, the PRP treatment is rejuvenating from inside-out. It is an ideal treatment for anyone that wants to improve the texture and 'radiance' of the skin by using a natural method, without severe side effects. As of yet, we do not offer the Vampire Facelift in our clinic, however we do offer highly effective and more potent anti-aging full-body rejuvenation therapy, with our Anova stem cell-based secretome therapy.
